PLACEMENT LOCATION:
Soysambu Conservancy, Great Rift Valley.
ROLE:
Wildlife Research, Community and Environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Anyone aged 16 and older can join.
MAIN RESEARCH FOCUS:
Micro-ecology of the Nubian giraffe and lions.
LOCAL ENVIRONMENT:
African Savannah and Lake Elementaita Wetland Ecosystem.
ACCOMMODATION:
Ranch House in the Conservancy.
LENGTH OF PLACEMENT:
From 2 weeks.
WORK DAYS:
Monday to Friday, Saturday weekend trip to town, dinner and shopping in town.
START DATES:
Flexible.
Students, Volunteers and Interns.
Volunteers
By volunteering with Giraffe Ambassadors you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and directly contribute towards:
Monitoring giraffes and lion.
Contribute towards anti-poaching activities.
Conservation activities to assist in preserving the environment.
Monitoring wetland and terrestrial birds.
Monitoring Black and white Colobus monkey.
Invasive species removal.
Students and Interns
You will be working with our resident Ecologist, students from Nairobi University, Department of Biology of Conservation, International students and interns from other institutions, and persons with interest and passion in wildlife conservation across the globe will also be hosted.
